Oxygen and carbon abundances for the WO stars
Space Science Reviews, 1994We present relative carbon and oxygen abundances derived via an optically thin recombination line analysis for five WO stars, and compare the derived abundances to recent evolutionary models. New recombination coefficients for O4+, O5+ and O6+ ions have allowed total oxygen abundances to be derived.

2006Asymptotic Giant Branch stars contribute significantly to the chemical evolution of their host galaxies. All stars with a main-sequence mass = 8M ? will return eventually 30-80% of their mass to the interstellar medium. In parallel to the He-burning phase, which follows the original main sequence H-burning, AGB stars are known to produce heavy elements.
