The spectrum of the manganese star ? Coronae Borealis

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1970
Iota Coronae Borealis is a manganese mercury star with a rich spectrum of sharp lines. We tabulate equivalent widths element by element from data obtained at Lick 120-inch telescope.

Differential rotation of the corona of the Sun as a star

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2009
The brightness of the solar corona as a whole (limb+disk) in the green line (Fe XIV 5303 A) is estimated from the database created by J. Sykora. This coronal index GLS (Green Line Sun) is based on observations directly. A daily set of from 1939 to 2001 is analyzed with the adaptive wavelet techniques.

Dynamics of the coronas of open star clusters

Astronomy Reports, 2014
A method for distinguishing coronas in models of open star clusters is proposed. The method uses trajectories of stars that do not leave the coronas over time intervals t comparable to the mean lifetime τ of the clusters. Corona models are constructed for six numerical cluster models, and the direction and character of the dynamical evolution of the ...

The Corona Australis star-forming region

2022
In the constellation Corona Australis (CrA) we find a molecular cloud of the same name, which is one of the closest star-forming regions to our Sun (d ≈ 150 pc). Projected in the plane of the sky, CrA appears to be relatively isolated just below the center of the Milky Way.

Convection regions and coronas of sun and stars

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1970
Photospheric models were calculated for 90 stars with effective temperatures between 2500 K and 41600 K for five logg-values ranging from 1 to 5. Molecule formation was taken into account. In order to have an idea about possible instabilities in the different stellar layers some quantities, characteristic for convection and turbulence were calculated ...

Evidence of Magnetic Coronae in Other Stars

1996
X ray emission and activity in late type stars are generally believed to be caused by magnetic fields generated below the stellar photosphere. Coronal magnetic fields should induce structuring of the coronal plasma in loop like structures, as observed in the Sun. Do we have evidence of such structuring?
