Single‐Step Recovery of Water from Stable Crude Oil‐Water Emulsion Using Surface Engineered Hybrid Inorganic‐Polymer Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Atomic layer deposition is used to conformally surface engineer polymeric membranes to fabricate inorganic–organic hybrid membranes. These membranes have exceptionally strong attraction toward water even in high oil containing emulsions, which leads to an extremely strong hydration layer at the interface.

Interaction‐Driven Assembly Pathways in Heterogeneous Active Microrobotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Peanut‐ and cube‐shaped light‐powered microrobots exhibit distinct magnetic and photocatalytic responses that determine their heterogeneous self‐assembly. In the dark, magnetic dipole interactions drive colloidal copolymerization with cubes acting as nucleation centers, whereas under light irradiation, phoretic interactions compete with magnetic ...

Fostering Digital Start-ups: Structural Model of Entrepreneurial Ecosystems

open access: yesProceedings of the Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2019
Despite rising scholarly, policy and practical interest in the concept of entrepreneurial ecosystems, much of the research to date has remained descriptive in nature and has not considered the fundamental driver of the phenomenon - digitalization. We theorize that entrepreneurial ecosystems represent a novel, distinctive type of regional cluster that ...
