Induction Motor Starting Analysis and Start Aided Device Comparison using ETAP

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Engineering Research and Science, 2017
The starting period of induction motor is characterized with high starting current and the bus on which the motor is feeding from experiences voltage dip, this causes some problems to loads connected to that particular bus. Different techniques are used to either reduce the motor in-rush starting current or the bus voltage dip or both.

High-performance planar light-emitting diode

open access: yes, 2002
Planar light-emitting diodes (LEDs) fabricated within a single high-mobility quantum well are demonstrated. Our approach leads to a dramatic reduction of radiative lifetime and junction area with respect to conventional vertical LEDs, promising very high-

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

How to Start a Biomedical Device Company

open access: yesJACC: Basic to Translational Science, 2017
Summary: Taking a solution for a clinical unmet need from a mere idea to a profitable medical device company is a long and complex process. After developing a prototype solution, the physician-inventor must quickly file a patent to protect his or her intellectual property.
