Control of cell state transitions
Understanding cell state transitions and purposefully controlling them is a longstanding challenge in biology. Here we present cell state transition assessment and regulation (cSTAR), an approach for mapping cell states, modelling transitions between them and predicting targeted interventions to convert cell fate decisions.

Almost optimal adaptive LQ control: observed state case [PDF]
In this paper we propose an almost optimal indirect adaptive controller for input/state dynamical systems. The control part of the adaptive scheme is based on a modified LQ control law: by adding a time varying gain to the certainty equivalent control ...

Optimal control and optimal sensor activation for Markov decision problems with costly observations [PDF]
This paper considers partial observation Markov decision processes. Besides the classical control decisions influencing the transition probabilities of the Markov process, we also consider control actions that can activate the sensors to provide more or ...

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

H_2-Optimal Decentralized Control over Posets: A State-Space Solution for State-Feedback
We develop a complete state-space solution to H_2-optimal decentralized control of poset-causal systems with state-feedback. Our solution is based on the exploitation of a key separability property of the problem, that enables an efficient computation of
