Probing quantum state space: does one have to learn everything to learn something?

open access: yes, 2017
Determining the state of a quantum system is a consuming procedure. For this reason, whenever one is interested only in some particular property of a state, it would be desirable to design a measurement setup that reveals this property with as little ...

Properties of excited B states in QCD

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
The mass and leptonic decay constants of recently observed two new excited $B_c$ states at LHC are studied within the QCD sum rules. Considering the contributions of the ground and radially excited states, the mass and residues of the excited states of pseudoscalar and vector mesons are calculated in the framework of two different approaches of the QCD

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

An investigation of the transfer dynamics of quantum teleportation by weak measurement statistics

open access: yes, 2013
We explore the mechanism of quantum teleportation by analyzing the weak measurement statistics post-selected by the result of the Bell measurement for the joint system composed of the input A and the spatially separated output B.

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

A Hobbesian Bundle of Lockean Sticks: The Property Rights Legacy of Justice Scalia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
No modern United States Supreme Court Justice has stimulated more thought and debate about the constitutional meaning of property than Antonin Scalia. This essay evaluates his efforts to change the prevailing interpretation of the Takings Clause.

States of change: explaining dynamics by anticipatory state properties [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Psychology, 2005
In cognitive science, the dynamical systems theory (DST) has recently been advocated as an approach to cognitive modeling that is better suited to the dynamics of cognitive processes than the symbolic/computational approaches are. Often, the differences between DST and the symbolic/computational approach are emphasized.

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our

On the question of property transformation forms: Theoretical and practical aspects [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия Саратовского университета. Новая серия: Серия «Экономика. Управление. Право»
Introduction. The transformation of property as a system of complex continuous relations regarding a change in type, form, characteristics and any properties of the property itself is a discussed scientific problem. The purpose of the study is to analyze
