Planar Four-Bar Path Generation with Static Structural Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2008
A planar four-bar path generation model that also includes mechanism static structural conditions is formulated and demonstrated in this work. Using this model, planar four-bar path generators are also synthesized with respect to static torque ...

The Influence of Free Quintessence on Gravitational Frequency Shift and Deflection of Light with 4D momentum

open access: yes, 2008
Based on the 4D momentum, the influence of quintessence on the gravitational frequency shift and the deflection of light are examined in modified Schwarzschild space.

Magnetic Force Microscopy Signatures of Higher‐Order Skyrmions and Antiskyrmions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic force microscopy operated under vacuum conditions enables the qualitative identification of higher‐order skyrmions and antiskyrmions in Co/Ni multilayers at room temperature. Distinct stray‐field contrast signatures arise from vertical Bloch lines and complex domain‐wall configurations.

Experimental study on stiffness deterioration of cracked RC hollow-core slab beams

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
To accurately assess the performance degradation of RC hollow-slab beam after service, in-situ static load tests were carried out on a RC hollow-slab beam bridge with a span diameter of 11.25 m, which is part of the Chongqing–Chengdu Highway Viaduct ...

Surface and flow field measurements in a symmetric crossing shock wave/turbulent boundary-layer interaction [PDF]

open access: yes
Results of an experimental investigation of a symmetric crossing shock/turbulent boundary layer interaction are presented for a Mach number of 3.44 and deflection angles of 2, 6, 8, and 9 degrees. The interaction strengths vary from weak to strong enough

Impact perforation testing of stab-resistant armour materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
This paper describes the development of a method for the investigation and comparison of materials for use in stab resistant body armour. A number of polymer composite panels of different thicknesses and construction have been tested.

Direction of light propagation to order G^2 in static, spherically symmetric spacetimes: a new derivation

open access: yes, 2012
A procedure avoiding any integration of the null geodesic equations is used to derive the direction of light propagation in a three-parameter family of static, spherically symmetric spacetimes within the post-post-Minkowskian approximation.

Imaging of Biphoton States: Fundamentals and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Quantum states of two photons exhibit a rich polarization and spatial structure, which provides a fundamental resource of strongly correlated and entangled states. This review analyzes the physics of these intriguing properties and explores the various techniques and technologies available to measure them, including the state of the art of their ...

Quasi‐Static to Supersonic Energy Absorption of Nanoarchitected Tubulanes and Schwarzites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoarchitected energy‐absorptive Tubulanes exhibit record energy absorption under quasi‐static conditions and exceptional inelastic energy dissipation under 750 m s−1 ballistics impact, with high performance spanning strain rates of 12 orders of magnitude.

Evaluation of frost blanket layer strength using different devices

open access: yesGrađevinar, 2019
The relationship between the static and dynamic deflection modulus is presented in the paper, and a correlation between the FBL physical and strength indicators is determined. The correction coefficients of dynamic measurements, as related to static beam
