Density and spin response function of a normal Fermi gas at unitarity
Using Landau theory of Fermi liquids we calculate the dynamic response of both a polarized and unpolarized normal Fermi gas at zero temperature in the strongly interacting regime of large scattering length. We show that at small excitation energies the {\

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Alternate approaches to vibration and shock analysis using NASTRAN [PDF]
A method that derives an approximate equivalent static load to a base excitation shock analysis is described. The transient analysis in the current level of NASTRAN, level 16, does not directly provide for either input acceleration forcing functions or ...

Stochastic heating of a molecular nanomagnet
We study the excitation dynamics of a single molecular nanomagnet by static and pulsed magnetic fields. Based on a stability analysis of the classical magnetization dynamics we identify analytically the fields parameters for which the energy is ...

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Possible Jahn-Teller effect in Si-inverse layers
Jahn-Teller effect in bivalley Si(100) MOSFET under conditions of quantum Hall effect at integer filling factors nu=1,2,3 is studied. This system is described by SU(4) hidden symmetry.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
