A Dimensionless Large Displacement Model for Flexure Hinges of Elliptical Geometry

Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics
Flexure hinges are joints typically used in the construction of compliant mechanisms, especially when small dimensions do not allow for conventional mechanical devices.

Kinematics, workspace and static analyses of 2-DOF flexure parallel mechanism

7th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision, 2002. ICARCV 2002., 2004
In this paper, we propose a 2-DOF parallel mechanism with flexure hinges. The kinematics and static analyses of this mechanism are studied in order to determine the kinematics properties, workspace, holding forces of the actuators and the reaction forces at the flexure hinges. These factors are useful for design process of this mechanism.

Static Flexural Behaviour of Externally Post-Tensioned Steel-Concrete Composite Beams

Advances in Structural Engineering, 2004
Composite steel-concrete beams are used widely in bridge and building construction as the main structural elements in flexure. Bridges, throughout the world have a design life and this may be reduced if traffic flows are increased or environmental degradation occurs.

Investigation of the static and low‐velocity impact performance of 3D braided spacer composites

Polymer Composites
To meet the lightweight requirements of advanced composite materials, the ultralightweight three‐dimensional (3D) braided spacer composites were designed and manufactured by ultra‐high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The key structural effects of

Effect of Flexural Static Load on the Strength of GFRP Gratings

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
– The usage of steel in offshore deep water area contributes to the massive load of the offshore platform which will lead to the massive operational cost. Therefore, the reduction of weight of platform is the major issue that need to be tackled properly.

Nonlinear Static Modeling of a Large Range XY-Nanopositioning System

Volume 7: 48th Mechanisms and Robotics Conference (MR)
High-precision and high-speed requirements in flexure-based positioning systems require stringent dynamic performance. In the presence of geometric non-linearities, which are relevant in large stroke flexure mechanisms, a standard approach is to ...
