Influence of the void ratio and the confining on the static liquefaction in slopes in shangi sand
A numerical study on the onset of static liquefaction in slopes under undrained conditions of loading was developed based on a general liquefaction flow instability criterion for elastoplastic soils based on the concept of loss of controllability.

Loose tailings are susceptible to static liquefaction during which they lose a substantial amount of their strength. This study examines a sustainable technique known as Microbially-Induced Calcite Precipitation (MICP) to improve the static liquefaction ...

Effect of Static Shear on Resistance to Liquefaction [PDF]
ABSTRACT The influence of static shear on undrained cyclic loading behaviour of Ottawa sand has been studied using triaxial samples anisotropically consolidated to various stress ratios. It is shown that the presence of static shear does not always lead to increased resistance to liquefaction or cyclic strain development.

Liquefaction Behavior of Bushehr Coastal Carbonate Sand [PDF]
Over the past few years, liquefaction phenomena have always been one of the challenging issues in geotechnical engineering. The occurrence of liquefaction is due to cyclic tensions resulting from zero effective stress in the soil mass.

Prediction initiation of static liquefaction of saturated sand under complex stress paths
The stress-strain relations of saturated sand are anisotropic and state-dependent, thus the initiation of its static liquefaction relies on stress paths.

Drained volumetric behaviour and static liquefaction of very loose sand reinforced with synthetic fibres [PDF]
Synthetic fibres may be used to reinforce soils. Fibre reinforcement may, for example, improve the mechanical behaviour of very loose sand which is usually susceptible to static liquefaction.

Constitutive modelling of fabric effect on sand liquefaction
Sand liquefaction under static and dynamic loading can cause failure of embankments, slopes, bridges and other important infrastructure. Sand liquefaction in the seabed can also cause submarine landslides and tsunamis.

Seismic Performance Screening and Evaluation for Embankments on Liquefiable Foundation Soils
This paper proposes a framework for screening and evaluating seismic performance of river earth embankments on liquefiable foundation soils. The framework is executed in the order of simplest screening by soil liquefaction potential map to preliminary ...

Geotechnical justification of the stadium construction on water-saturated soils under seismic loading [PDF]
One of the main issues in the design of bases and foundations on water-saturated soils in conditions of possible seismic impacts is the geotechnical substantiation of the possibil-ity of construction.
