Statically inferring performance properties of software configurations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Fifteenth European Conference on Computer Systems, 2020
Modern software systems often have a huge number of configurations whose performance properties are poorly documented. Unfortunately, obtaining a good understanding of these performance properties is a prerequisite for performance tuning. This paper explores a new approach to discovering performance properties of system configurations: static program ...

Do Impairments in Visual Functions Affect Skiing Performance?

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2021
Nordic and alpine skiing-related visual tasks such as identifying hill contours, slope characteristics, and snow conditions increase demands on contrast processing and other visual functions. Prospective observational studies were conducted to assess the

Performance of Static Flocculators

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 1993
The conventional mechanical flocculator consisting of paddles and other mechanical equipment such as a gear box, revolving foot-bridge etc. and requiring electrical energy for operation is not suitable for rural areas of developing countries. Hence four models of static flocculators which do not involve any moving parts or mechanical equipment and do ...

Development and Performance of a Static Pluviometer System

open access: yesCoRR
As the frequency and severity of climate-related events such as droughts, floods, and water scarcity continue to escalate, accurate rainfall monitoring becomes increasingly critical. This paper covers various industry methods of measuring rainfall as well as our own ground pluviometer system. Our system consists of an inexpensive static rain gauge that

STATIC PERFORMANCE PREDICTION OF SKELETAL PARALLEL PROGRAMS [PDF]

open access: yesParallel Algorithms and Applications, 2002
We demonstrate that the run time of implicitly parallel programs can be statically predicted with considerable accuracy when expressed within the constraints of a skeletal, shapely parallel programming language. Our work constitutes the first completely static system to account for both computation and communication in such a context.
