Simplified Pushover Analysis of Moment Resisting Frame Structures [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Earthquake Engineering, 2021
Seismic assessment of a building will typically require consideration of its nonlinear force–displacement response. Such information can be estimated from pushover analysis, also referred to as nonlinear static analysis, in which the structure is ...

STATIC PUSHOVER ANALYSIS FOR REGULAR AND IRREGULAR STRUCTURES IN ALL ZONES

YMER Digital, 2022
In many earthquake-prone countries, structures may be suffers to various seismic loads in any stage of structures life. For this situation it is expected that the structures designed will show ductile behaviour under the various loads like vertical loads and lateral loads and also shows a stable behaviour without any major damage.

The Non Linear Static Pushover Analysis of RCC Frames

The Asian Review of Civil Engineering, 2012
As the Developing countries move towards the implementation of Performance Based engineering philosophies in seismic design of civil structures, new seismic design provisions will require structural engineers to perform nonlinear analyses of the structures they are designing.

Static Pushover Analysis Based on an Energy‐Equivalent SDOF System

Earthquake Spectra, 2011
In this paper, a new energy‐based pushover procedure is presented in order to achieve an approximate estimation of structural performance under strong earthquakes. The steps of the proposed methodology are quite similar to those of the well‐known displacement modification method.

Nonlinear Static Pushover Analysis for Shear Wall Structures in SAP2000 Program

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
To study the nonlinear mechanical characteristics of reinforced concrete shear wall structures under rare earthquakes, a single reinforced concrete shear wall model is established in SAP2000 program, which is simulated by nonlinear multi-layer shell element.

Enhanced nonlinear static analysis with the drift pushover procedure for tall buildings

Bulletin of Earthquake Engineering, 2016
In this study a new method for nonlinear static analysis based on the relative displacements of stories is proposed that is able to be implemented in a single stage analysis and considers the effects of an arbitrary number of higher modes. The method is called the extended drift pushover analysis procedure (EDPA).

Performance of concrete gravity dam with various height of dam based on static pushover analysis

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2021
The study was related to the performance of the concrete gravity dam with a various height of dam based on static pushover analysis. Based on the concepts of nonlinear static pushover analysis, a lateral incremental load is applied to the dam body after exerting gravitational and hydrostatic loads.

Improving Static Pushover Analysis by Optimal Bilinear Fitting of Capacity Curves

2013
An improvement of codes’ bilinear fit for static pushover (SPO) curves is put forward aimed at decreasing the error introduced in the conventional SPO analysis by the piecewise linear fitting of the capacity curve. In the approach proposed herein, the error introduced by the bilinear fit of the force-deformation relationship is quantified by studying ...
