Spectroscopic and thermodynamic characterization of the interaction of a new synthesized antitumor drug candidate 2H4MBBH with human serum albumin [PDF]

open access: yesPharmacia
In the present work we studied the interactions of a newly synthesized drug candidate, 2-(2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzylidene)-1-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)hydrazine (2H4MBBH), with human serum albumin (HSA) by fluorescence spectroscopy.

Anomalous non-ergodic scaling in adiabatic multicritical quantum quenches [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B 80, 241109(R) (2009), 2009
We investigate non-equilibrium dynamical scaling in adiabatic quench processes across quantum multicritical points. Our analysis shows that the resulting power-law scaling depends sensitively on the control path, and that anomalous critical exponents may emerge depending on the universality class.

Development of a Novel Processing Route for Dispersoid/Precipitation‐Strengthened High Conductive Copper Alloys by Using Metalized Nanoceramics in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores a process chain to produce dispersoid‐strengthened CuCr1Zr for applications requiring high strength and conductivity. Using gas‐atomized powder and copper‐plated alumina nanoparticles, additive manufacturing is performed via powder bed based additive manufacturing with green and red lasers, followed by heat treatment.

Analysis of Temperature and Stress Distribution on the Bond Properties of Hybrid Tailored Formed Components

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Hybrid materials enable high‐performance components but are challenging to process. This study explores an inductive heating concept with spray cooling for steel–aluminum specimens in a two‐step process including friction welding and cup backward extrusion.

Reaction Mechanism Spectroscopy Studies of Protein and Orange II

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2015
In this paper, the interaction of Orange II and Human Serum Albumin was studied by fluorescence spectroscopy under simulated physiological conditions. The affection of pigment and serum albumin may cause changes in the microenvironment.

Lattice Calculations of Decay Constants [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Lattice attempts to compute the leptonic decay constants of heavy-light pseudoscalar mesons are described. I give a short historical overview of such attempts and then discuss some current calculations.

Powder Metallurgy and Additive Manufacturing of High‐Nitrogen Alloyed FeCr(Si)N Stainless Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The alloying element Nitrogen enhances stainless steel strength, corrosion resistance, and stabilizes austenite. This study develops austenitic FeCr(Si)N steel production via powder metallurgy. Fe20Cr and Si3N4 are hot isostatically pressed, creating an austenitic microstructure.

Modelling static impurities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2000
A simple model is presented for the calculation of the quenched average over impurities which are rendered static by setting their mass equal to infinity. The path integral formalism of the second quantized theory contains annealed averages only. The similarity with the Gaussian quenched potential model is discussed.

The adsorption of an anticancer hydrazone by protein: an unusual static quenching mechanism

open access: yesRSC Adv., 2012
A novel hydrazone, 4-chloro-N′-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)benzohydrazide (CPBH) has been synthesized through a one-pot synthesis method and used as a chemical probe to find the structural cause of the unusual static quenching mechanism in the interaction with serum albumin.
