Static and Dynamic Quenching of Ru(II) Polypyridyl Excited States by Iodide

Inorganic Chemistry, 2005
The metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) excited states of Ru(bpy)(2)(deeb)(PF(6))(2), where bpy is 2,2-bipyridine and deeb is 4,4'-(CO(2)CH(2)CH(3))(2)-2,2'-bipyridine, in dichloromethane were found to be efficiently quenched by iodide at room temperature.

Determination of the mechanism of the argininosuccinate synthetase reaction by static and dynamic quench experiments

Biochemistry, 1985
The reactions catalyzed by argininosuccinate synthetase have been examined by the use of static and dynamic quench techniques. The time course of the forward reaction (22 degrees C) at pH 8.0 is characterized by a "burst" of AMP formation upon quenching with acid that is equivalent to 0.59 mol of enzyme.

Theoretical analysis of the static quenching of optical excitations in luminescent nanoparticles

JETP Letters, 2010
A compact analytical expression has been obtained for the kinetics of the donor-acceptor transfer of the energy and the quenching of optical excitations in spherical nanoparticles with luminescent impurities. A series of numerical experiments simulating the process have been performed using the Monte Carlo method for nanoparticles of various sizes and ...

Significance of the static fluorescence quenching limit in the finite sink approximation

Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology A: Chemistry, 1989
Abstract In the finite sink approximation the time-independent quenching rate constant kQ(c) increases with quencher concentration c according to the equation where (2πNc)− 1 3 ) = r0, the most probable nearest-neighbor separation or sink radius.

Coordination Polymer Nanoarchitecture for Nitroaromatic Sensing by Static Quenching Mechanism

The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2015
A nanoscale coordination-polymer (CP) architecture with a π-conjugated backbone (Zn-ata) was synthesized in this work. In aqueous media, this material exhibited a specific fluorescence response to nitroaromatics (detection limits of 0.2–1.3 ppm) but not to nitroaliphatics, despite their similar electron affinities.

Static solitary wave solution in 1D quantum quenched systems

Physics Letters A, 1985
Abstract We use Morita's formulation to describe quenched systems. Through the Holstein-Primakoff (HP) representation we quantize the system in 1D and it gives coupled non-linear Schrodinger equations. We show that a static solitary wave is a solution of these equations.

Static fluorescence quenching in the study of micellar systems

2007
The effect of a number of polar and non-polar organic molecules on the micelli- zation of sodium dodecyl sulfate at low suffactant and additive concentration, has been studied by fluorescence probing methods. The solubilization and its effect on micellar parameters and structure is examined and some general trends are discussed.

Static and dynamic fluorescence quenching of a dicyanoanthracene-capped β-cyclodextrin

J. Chem. Soc., Perkin Trans. 2, 1995
Fluorescence quenching of 6A,6D(C)-(9, 10-dicyanoanthracene-2,6-disulfonyl)-β-cyclodextrin (DCA-β-CD) by several amines (1–6) has been investigated. Apparent Stern–Volmer constants, which are the sum of dynamic and static (binding) components, have been determined.

Instabilities of quasi-static crack patterns in quenched glass plates

Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, 1997
Abstract We have produced controlled quasi-static crack propagation in thin glass plates to study crack instabilities. Quasi-static fractures can exhibit drastic changes in morphology when the control parameter is varied. The thermal stress and the velocity of the crack tip depend on the temperature difference between two heat reservoirs (ΔT) and the
