Exact Method for Static Analysis of Periodic Structures

Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1989
The U-transform method has been applied successfully to the vibration analysis of infinite periodic continuous beams and has been proven to be a very useful exact analytical method for analyzing periodic structures. In this paper it is established that this method can be applied to the rigorous analysis of some finite periodic structures under all ...

Static scene analysis using structured light

Image and Vision Computing, 1991
Abstract The design of a new image acquisition system for static scenes is presented. It is a method based on effective combination of two well known techniques of 3D vision; the triangulation method, using an image with certain areas illuminated by a controlled light plane; and the use of a striped light image lit by parallel grid projection.

Analysis of static data flow structures

Fundam. Informaticae, 2008
Summary: A token-based model for asynchronous data path, called Static Data Flow Structures (SDFS), is formally defined. Three token game semantics are introduced for this model, namely atomic token, spread token and counterflow. The SDFS semantics are analysed using a simple benchmark example; their advantages and drawbacks are highlighted.

On the static analysis of constrained structural systems

Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering, 2004
Complete structures might contain so many degrees of freedom that it would be infeasible to perform a structural analysis. The derivation of the equilibrium equations of an entire structure to utilize kinematical compatibility conditions at the interfaces of the substructures requires complicated intermediate processes or numerical schemes for ...

Static Analysis of Taut Structures

2008
The article presents a general framework for the nonlinear equilibrium analysis of taut structures, such as cables and membranes. Distinction is done between geometric and constitutive stiffness, and all the relevant matrices for truss and membrane finite element static analyses are derived, including the effects of sliding cables and following forces (

Static Nonlinear Analysis In Concrete Structures

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008
Push‐over analysis is a simple and applied approach which can be used for estimation of demand responses influenced by earthquake stimulations. The analysis is non‐linear static analysis of the structure affected under increasing lateral loads and specifying the displacement—load diagram or structure capacity curve, draw the curve the base shear values

Static and dynamic analysis of repetitive structures [PDF]

open access: possible, 2019
In this thesis, a one-dimensional (beam-like) repetitive pin-jointed structure with point masses located at nodal cross-sections is analysed with the aim to provide a simple physical explanation for the existence of frequency-propagation zones and decay zones.

Static Analysis of Prestressed Tensegrity Structures

Volume 5: 27th Biennial Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, 2002
In this paper the mathematical model to perform the static analysis of a prestressed antiprism tensegrity structure subjected to an arbitrary reduction of its connecting ties is addressed. A virtual work approach is used to deduce the equilibrium equations and the numerical results are verified using a Newtonian approach.
