Deformation Properties of Stone Columns Back-calculated from Static Load Tests
The stone column is a cost-effective, sustainable, and technically sound ground improvement solution for enhancing bearing capacity, minimizing settlement, and mitigating the liquefaction potential of a wide range of soils.

Grayloc seal static tests [PDF]
A series of evaluation tests was performed on Grayloc seals. Helium service and standard seals, size 292, were used. Measurements were made of axial force and motion, diameter, hoop and axial strain, and helium leak rate. Leak rates were in the 10/sup -6/ atm cc/s range for the helium service seals.

ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...

Prediction of flyover jet noise spectra from static tests [PDF]
A scaling law is derived for predicting the flyover noise spectra of a single-stream shock-free circular jet from static experiments. The theory is based on the Lighthill approach to jet noise.

Static and Dynamic Mechanical Properties of Organic-Rich Gas Shale
Rock mechanical properties are critical for drilling, wellbore stability, and well stimulation. There are usually two laboratory methods to determine rock mechanical properties: static compression tests and acoustic velocity measurements.

ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

Bearing capacity of single root pile considering cushion effects
For the slipped soft soil foundation in the storage yard of a wharf, the root pile-net composite foundation is used. The centrifugal model test are carried out to study the effects of cushions on the bearing behaviors of single root pile.

Residuals-based tests for cointegration with generalized least-squares detrended data [PDF]
We provide generalized least-squares (GLS) detrended versions of single-equation static regression or residuals-based tests for testing whether or not non-stationary time series are cointegrated.
