Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Research of the Backlash Detection Method of RV40E Precision Reducer

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2020
The bidirectional transmission error method is a dynamic continuous backlash detection method based on transmission error detection. Aiming at the fitting error problem of traditional static hysteretic curve testing RV reducer, an improved hysteretic ...

Reduction of gear pair transmission error with tooth profile modification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The gear noise problem that widely occurs in power transmission systems is typically characterised by one or more high amplitude acoustic signals. The noise originates from the vibration of the gear pair system caused by transmission error excitation ...

Location-Quality-aware Policy Optimisation for Relay Selection in Mobile Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Relaying can improve the coverage and performance of wireless access networks. In presence of a localisation system at the mobile nodes, the use of such location estimates for relay node selection can be advantageous as such information can be collected ...

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.

Dynamic modeling and analysis of load sharing characteristics of wind turbine gearbox

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2015
A coupled dynamic model, which contains helical gears-shafts-bearings for a wind turbine gearbox transmission system, was built considering nonlinear factors of the time-varying mesh stiffness, the external varying load, and the dynamic transmission ...

Dynamic Torsional Stiffness of Reducers and Its Testing Method

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The torsional stiffness of the reducer is commonly assumed to be static and tested using the hysteresis curve method. However, practical engineering experience shows that the torsional stiffness is dynamic rather than static, and the hysteresis curve ...

Understanding the Effect of Resistance Temperature Detector Temperature Controllers on Microstructural Alignment in Magnetic Freeze Casting

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The effect of temperature controllers that are commonly used in freeze‐casting is investigated in this work. Temperature controllers are observed to generate a voltage in the slurry. Microstructural alignment and ultimate compressive strength data show this voltage to interfere with the ability to align the microstructure using magnetic fields ...

Theoretical and Experimental Study on Contact Characteristics of Spiral Bevel Gears under Quasi-Static and Large Loading Conditions

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The precise mathematical model for the tooth surface and transition surface of spiral bevel gears is derived. Taking a pair of spiral bevel gears of a heavy vehicle as an example of calculation and analysis, a finite element model of spiral bevel gears ...

Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.
