Magnetically Actuated Drops‐on‐Stilts Microrobots for Transport and Delivery of Hydrophobic Cargo

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Iron oxide nanoparticles and oil droplets in external magnetic fields form “drops‐on‐stilts” microrobots that transport hydrophobic cargo. Tunable nanoparticle–droplet interactions generate stilt‐like structures. Field rotation enables walking, obstacle navigation, and collective motion.

Dynamics of a Dengue Transmission Model with Multiple Stages and Fluctuations

open access: yesMathematics
A vector–host model of dengue with multiple stages and independent fluctuations is investigated in this paper. Firstly, the existence and uniqueness of the positive solution are shown by contradiction.

The Spatial Analysis of Time Series [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we propose a method of analyzing time series, called the spatial analysis. The analysis consists mainly of the statistical inference on the distribution given by the expected local time, which we define to be the spatial distribution, of a

Quasi-stationary distributions

open access: yes, 2011
This paper contains a survey of results related to quasi-stationary distributions, which arise in the setting of stochastic dynamical systems that eventually evanesce, and which may be useful in describing the long-term behaviour of such systems before evanescence.

Pattern Formation in Non‐Equilibrium Architected Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This article demonstrates an artificial mechanical system ‐ a robotic metamaterial ‐ as an accessible and versatile platform within which to explore and prescribe the reaction‐diffusion driven pattern formation hitherto associated with comparatively less accessible and versatile non‐equilibrium biological and chemical systems.

Advanced Design for Weakly Coupled Resonators by Automatic Active Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An Automatic Active Optimization (AAO) strategy integrates machine learning predictors and genetic algorithms in a closed‐loop workflow. By iteratively expanding its dataset with new discoveries, AAO overcomes the limits of conventional methods. This approach finds superior microstructural designs beyond the initial sample space. We demonstrate this on

The Density Function of the Stochastic SIQR Model with a Two-Parameters Mean-Reverting Process

open access: yesAxioms
This study develops a stochastic SIQR epidemic model with mean-reverting Ornstein–Uhlenbeck (OU) processes for both transmission rate β(t) and quarantine release rate k(t); this is distinct from existing non-white-noise stochastic epidemic models, most ...
