Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Comparing Machine Learning Algorithms to Enhance Volumetric Water Content Prediction in Low-Cost Soil Moisture Sensor

open access: yesJournal of Applied Informatics and Computing
Measuring soil moisture is possible either with directly using gravimetric test or indirectly using soil moisture sensor. Direct measurements offer accuracy but are not efficient in field measurements.

Dendritic nonlinearities are tuned for efficient spike-based computations in cortical circuits

open access: yeseLife, 2015
Cortical neurons integrate thousands of synaptic inputs in their dendrites in highly nonlinear ways. It is unknown how these dendritic nonlinearities in individual cells contribute to computations at the level of neural circuits.

Jimsphere wind and turbulence exceedance statistic [PDF]

open access: yes
Exceedance statistics of winds and gusts observed over Cape Kennedy with Jimsphere balloon sensors are described. Gust profiles containing positive and negative departures, from smoothed profiles, in the wavelength ranges 100-2500, 100-1900, 100-860, and

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.

Approach of detecting LDoS attack based on time window statistic

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2010
Through analysised of normal traffic and attack flow, statistic result showed that the normal traffic throughout had an obviously degrade and attack flow had a short time abnormity pulse with higher amplitude. An approach of de-tecting LDoS attack based on

An approximation theorem and generic convergence for equilibrium problems

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2018
In this paper, we prove an approximation theorem for equilibrium problems and provide theoretical support for many algorithms. Simon’s bounded rationality is illustrated by an approximation theorem, that is, bounded rationality is approaching full ...

Bayesian Testing in Cointegration Models using the Jeffreys' Prior [PDF]

open access: yes
We develop a Bayesian cointegration test statistic that can be used under a Jeffreys' prior. The test statistic is equal to the posterior expectation of the classical score statistic.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
