Statistical disclosure control for survey data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Statistical disclosure control refers to the methodology used in the design of the statistical outputs from a survey for protecting the confidentiality of respondents’ answers. The threat to confidentiality is assumed to come from a hypothetical intruder

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

The Empirical Bayes Estimators of the Variance Parameter of the Normal Distribution with a Normal-Inverse-Gamma Prior Under Stein’s Loss Function

open access: yesAxioms
For the hierarchical normal and normal-inverse-gamma model, we derive the Bayesian estimator of the variance parameter in the normal distribution under Stein’s loss function—a penalty function that treats gross overestimation and underestimation equally ...

A class of 3-dimensional almost Kenmotsu manifolds with harmonic curvature tensors

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2016
Let M3 be a three-dimensional almost Kenmotsu manifold satisfying ▽ξh = 0. In this paper, we prove that the curvature tensor of M3 is harmonic if and only if M3 is locally isometric to either the hyperbolic space ℍ3(-1) or the Riemannian product ℍ2(−4) ×

An Efficient Quantum Multi-Collision Search Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this article, we propose an efficient quantum k-collision search algorithm with low quantum memory O(n). The previous quantum k-collision algorithms can not be converted into a low quantum memory k-collision algorithm directly, because the time ...

A Statistical Toolkit for Data Analysis

open access: yesNuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2006
The present project aims to develop an open-source and object-oriented software Toolkit for statistical data analysis. Its statistical testing component contains a variety of Goodness-of-Fittests, from Chi-squared to Kolmogorov-Smirnov, tolessknown, but generally much more powerful tests such a sAnderson-Darling, Goodman, Fisz-Cramer-vonMises, Kuiper ...

Novel statistical approaches for non-normal censored immunological data: analysis of cytokine and gene expression data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background: For several immune-mediated diseases, immunological analysis will become more complex in the future with datasets in which cytokine and gene expression data play a major role. These data have certain characteristics that require sophisticated

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
