How Do Projections of Meteorological Droughts Vary Across Models and Regions?

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 4, 28 February 2026.
Abstract Quantifying how and where climate change will alter meteorological drought properties is a priority to inform adaptation policies. Here we use the standardized precipitation index to portray future changes in the climatological properties of moderate drought events projected by the latest generation of Earth system models.

Can a Single Sounding Predict the Weather? An AI Downscaling Framework for Local‐Circulation‐Dominated Flow Over Taiwan's Complex Topography

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract Typical AI downscaling models ingest large data sets, obscuring physical insight and straining computational resources. Guided by meteorological theory, a compact yet physically informative input set alleviates these limitations. Analyses of TaiwanVVM simulations reveals that the synoptic‐scale upstream sounding largely controls the evolution ...

Methods for statistical downscaling of GCM simulations

open access: yes, 1997
General Circulation Models (GCMs) are used to study the change of climate due to increases in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. As GCMs operate on !arge spatial scales, and, furthermore, as the GCM-simulated temporal resolution corresponds to monthly averages at best, the usefulness of GCM data in impact studies and other applications is limited. When Rain Meets Surge: Assessing Future Typhoon‐Driven Compound Flood Hazard Profiles in a Rapidly Urbanizing Delta

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract Typhoon‐induced Compound Flood (TCF), driven by the combined impact of extreme rainfall and increasing coastal water level (CWL), poses a substantial threat to urban safety. This study presents a framework for assessing the future compound flood hazard profiles in a coastal megacity in the Delta region of southern China.

Complementary Logic Driven by Dielectrophoretic Assembly of 2D Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 11, 5 February 2026.
Scalable, parallel fabrication of complementary logic gates is demonstrated using electric‐field‐driven deterministic assembly of electrochemically exfoliated 2D n‐type MoS2 and p‐type WSe2 nanosheets. This strategy yields MoS2 and WSe2 transistors featuring average mobilities of 4.3 and 3.0 cm2 V−1 s−1, respectively, and on/off ratios of > 104 ...

Formation of Condition‐Dependent Alpha‐Synuclein Fibril Strain in Artificial Cerebrospinal Fluid

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
α‐synuclein aggregation in artificial cerebrospinal fluid (aCSF) leads to a distinct conformation with an electron density pocket motif found in aggregates from PD and MSA patients. Such fibrils has low stability outside the reaction conditions, hinting about the influence of cerebrospinal fluid components not only on the formation, but also on the ...
