On the geometric structure ofsome statistical manifolds

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
In information geometry, one of the basic problem is to study the geomet-ric properties of statistical manifold. In this paper, we study the geometricstructure of the generalized normal distribution manifold and show that it has constant α-Gaussian curvature.

Neighborhood Socioeconomic Status and Short‐Term Functional Outcomes in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Individuals with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) can accumulate functional status (FS) impairment. We evaluated the association between neighborhood socioeconomic disadvantage, as measured by the Area Deprivation Index (ADI), and FS in a national SLE sample.

A Bayesian Approach to Manifold Topology Reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we investigate the problem of statistical reconstruction of piecewise linear manifold topology. Given a noisy, probably undersampled point cloud from a one- or two-manifold, the algorithm reconstructs an approximated most likely mesh in

Roughness-informed machine learning – A call for fractal and fractional calculi

open access: yesJournal of Information and Intelligence
This paper presents a unified framework for roughness-informed machine learning, dividing roughness into four categories: statistical, geometric, manifold, and topological.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

A note on harmonic maps of statistical manifolds

open access: yesCommunications Faculty Of Science University of Ankara Series A1Mathematics and Statistics, 2019
Summary: We show an existence and uniqueness result for a class of maps from a flat statistical manifold into a Riemannian manifold in a given homotopy class when the target Riemannian manifold is of negative sectional curvature under a global topological non-triviality condition.

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

NAVIER–STOKES EQUATIONS ON THE β-PLANE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Mathematical analysis has been undertaken for the vorticity formulation of the two dimensional Navier–Stokes equation on the β-plane with periodic boundary conditions. This equation describes the flow of fluid near the equator of the Earth. The long time

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.
