Penalized Exponentially Tilted Likelihood for Growing Dimensional Models with Missing Data

open access: yesEntropy
This paper develops a penalized exponentially tilted (ET) likelihood to simultaneously estimate unknown parameters and select variables for growing dimensional models with missing response at random.

Analysis and achievement for fractional optimal control of Hepatitis B with Caputo operator

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2023
Deciphering the effect of long memory on dynamic behavior is important for controlling disease transmission. Employing fractional order calculus, here, we propose a model with Caputo operator to emphasize the regulation effect of the long memory on the ...

Survival Outcomes and Complications Among Canadian Children With Retinoblastoma: A Population‐Based Report From CYP‐C

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common pediatric ocular cancer, yet population‐based data on survival and risk factors remain limited. This study aimed to describe survival in a large national RB cohort and identify predictors of death and complications.

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

Modeling statistical metadata

open access: yesProceedings Thirteenth International Conference on Scientific and Statistical Database Management. SSDBM 2001, 2002
An object oriented statistical metadata model is presented, which can be used in building information systems providing metadata-guided, statistical data processing features. The semantics of the model are analyzed and a set of operators (transformations) is proposed that allows for the automatic manipulation of both data and metadata at the same time.

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

NRASQ61R Expression in Lymphatic Endothelial Cells Causes Enlarged Vessels, Hemorrhagic Chylous Effusions, and High Mortality in a Mouse Model of Kaposiform Lymphangiomatosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.

Statistical modeling of causal effects in continuous time

open access: yes, 2008
This article studies the estimation of the causal effect of a time-varying treatment on time-to-an-event or on some other continuously distributed outcome. The paper applies to the situation where treatment is repeatedly adapted to time-dependent patient

Predictive Statistical Models for User Modeling [PDF]

open access: yesUser Modeling and User-Adapted Interaction, 2001
Summary: The limitations of traditional knowledge representation methods for modeling complex human behaviour led to the investigation of statistical models. Predictive statistical models enable the anticipation of certain aspects of human behaviour, such as goals, actions and preferences.
