Survey of Statistical Methodology

1988
In this chapter, we will give a brief description of the statistical methodology used in this study. We are interested in formulating and estimating models of the length of time from an individual’s release from prison until his or her recidivism; we will use these models to predict the rate of recidivism among other groups of individuals.

On the fit of models to covariances and methodology to the Bulletin.

Psychological bulletin, 1992
It is noted that 7 of the 10 top-cited articles in the Psychological Bulletin deal with methodological topics. One of these is the Bentler-Bonett (1980) article on the assessment of fit in covariance structure models.

Methodological advances in statistical prediction.

Psychological Assessment, 2019
Thirty years ago, Dawes, Faust, and Meehl (1989) argued that mental health professionals should routinely use statistical prediction rules to describe and diagnose clients, predict behaviors, and formulate treatment plans. Subsequent research has supported their claim that statistical prediction performs well when compared to clinical judgment. However,

Statistical methodologies for integrated circuits design

2007 Ph.D Research in Microelectronics and Electronics Conference, 2007
The continuous scaling of physical dimensions has strongly increased circuit performance variability and the traditional corner-case methodology is becoming unreliable. As a consequence, there is an urgent need for new and more accurate statistical models.

Statistical Methodology and Results

2013
In the preceding chapters, I have argued that the justices of the US Supreme Court are likely to take into account a variety of factors as they decide the free expression cases: content-neutrality, their own political attitudes, the level of government that is party to the case or participates as a friend of the court (amicus curiae), the identity of ...

Teaching Statistical Consulting Before Statistical Methodology

Australian & New Zealand Journal of Statistics, 2003
AbstractThis paper outlines and discusses the advantages of an ‘Introduction to Statistical Consulting’ course (ISC) that exposes students to statistical consulting early in their studies. The course is intended for students before, or while, they study their units in statistical techniques, and assumes only a first‐year introductory statistics unit ...

Statistical methodology in numismatic studies

Journal of Archaeological Science, 1983
Abstract The note is concerned with the statistical methods applied to numismatic studies with particular reference to a previously published study of the trace-element composition of Augustan coins (Carter, G. F. (1978), Journal of Archaeological Science 5).
