The statistics of topic modelling.
This research project aims to provide a clear and concise guide to latent dirichlet allocation which is a form of topic modelling. The aim is to help researchers who do not have a strong background in mathematics or statistics to feel comfortable with using topic modelling in their work.

Topics in robust statistical learning
Some recent contributions to robust inference are presented. Firstly, the classical problem of robust M-estimation of a location parameter is revisited using an optimal transport approach - with specifically designed Wasserstein-type distances - that reduces robustness to a continuity property.

Selected topics in statistical computing [PDF]
The field of computational statistics refers to statistical methods or tools that are computationally intensive. Due to the recent advances in computing power, some of these methods have become prominent and central to modern data analysis. In this paper, we focus on several of the main methods including density estimation, kernel smoothing, smoothing ...

GENERATING WORKING HYPOTHESES FOR ORIGINAL RESEARCH STUDIES
A hypothesis is a statement of the expected outcome of a research study, generally based on analysis of prior published knowledge, or with reference to the previous work of the investigators. The hypothesis forms the foundation of a research proposal.

Statistical hypothesis testing: general approach in medical research
Statistical hypothesis testing is one of the key steps in modern medical research. Initially, scientists formulate a research hypothesis based on which the statistical hypothesis is then developed and statistically tested.
