Direct semi-blind MMSE equalization for STBC

open access: yesIEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2005
A semi-blind method for minimum mean square square error (MMSE) equalization of space-time block coding (STBC) systems is proposed. By exploiting information from the redundancy in the structure of STBC as well as from the training symbols, MMSE equalization can be achieved without channel estimation.

Full-Diversity QO-STBC Technique for Large-Antenna MIMO Systems [PDF]

open access: yesElectronics (Switzerland), 2017
YesThe need to achieve high data rates in modern telecommunication systems, such as 5G standard, motivates the study and development of large antenna and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. This study introduces a large antenna-order design of

STBC-Schemes With Nonvanishing Determinant for Certain Number of Transmit Antennas

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2005
— This paper presents a systematic technique for constructing STBC-schemes (Space-Time Block Code schemes) with non-vanishing determinant, based on cyclic division algebras. Prior constructions of STBC-schemes with non-vanishing determinant are available

Asymptotically-Good, Multigroup ML-Decodable STBCs

2010 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference GLOBECOM 2010, 2010
For a family/sequence of Space-Time Block Codes (STBCs) \mbox{$\mathcal{C}_1,\mathcal{C}_2,\dots$}, with increasing number of transmit antennas $N_i$, with rates $R_i$ complex symbols per channel use, \mbox{$i=1,2,\dots$}, the \emph{asymptotic normalized rate} is defined as \mbox{$\lim_{i \to \infty}{\frac{R_i}{N_i}}$}. A family of STBCs is said to be \

Omnidirectional STBC Design in Massive MIMO Systems

2015 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2014
Common signals in public channels of cellular systems should be transmitted omnidirectionally from the base station (BS) to ensure cell-wide coverage. In this paper, we propose two omnidirectional space-time block codes (STBCs), being referred to as precoded Alamouti code and precoded quasi-orthogonal STBC (QOSTBC), respectively, to provide ...

PMEPR Reduction Algorithms for STBC-OFDM Signals

2004
This paper evaluates the peak-to-mean envelope power ratio (PMEPR) performance in a space-time block coded (STBC) OFDM system using the selective mapping (SLM) and partial transmit sequence (PTS) approaches. The investigated SLM and PTS schemes for STBC-OFDM signals select the transmitted sequence with the lowest average PMEPR over all transmit ...

Wireless Multimedia Framework Based on STBC-OFDM

Sixth International Conference on Advanced Language Processing and Web Information Technology (ALPIT 2007), 2007
The transmission of multimedia data over wireless channels poses a great deal of significant constraints on the communication system bandwidth, BER and latency. To deal with these restrictions on wireless multimedia communication, numerous kinds of compression, modulation, and coding schemes have been designed.
