Abstract Superplasticity is the ability of certain polycrystalline materials to exhibit exceptionally large elongations by grain boundary sliding and its accommodation by diffusion, dislocation slip, or both. One of the critical requirements for this phenomenon to occur is the fine equiaxed grains, which should be stable during ...

Abstract The l0-norm-constraint LMS (l0-LMS) algorithm is one of the widely used sparse LMS algorithms for the identification of sparse system, and its performance is quite attractive compared to other precursors. However, l0-LMS is still confronted with some limitations on the optimal parameter selection and the estimated coefficient accuracy of ...

Abstract For the study of flame processes and their variation with fuel properties it is essential to have methods suitable for all ranges of deviation from the kinetic steady state. A method is proposed which has been shown to be useful in extensive calculations whose results have been published elsewhere.

Steady-state mean-square deviation analysis of improved normalized subband adaptive filter
Signal Processing, 2015A new minimization criterion for the normalized subband adaptive filter (NSAF), which is called improved NSAF (INSAF), was introduced recently to improve the performance of the steady-state mean-square deviation (MSD). However, the steady-state MSD analysis of the INSAF was not studied.

Fiber melt extrusion: Deviations from steady‐state behavior in the spin line
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1964AbstractThe occurrence of nonsteady‐state conditions in the melt extrusion of fibers is described. Data obtained from cinephotographs are presented which indicate that the spin line diameter at a fixed point in space can have wide fluctuations dependent upon spinning parameters.

Dissipation in steady states of chemical systems and deviations from minimum entropy production
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1987Abstract According to the linear thermodynamic theory of irreversible processes, entropy production is minimized at the steady states of nonequilibrium systems. The principle of minimum entropy production is obtained if the dissipation is expanded in the deviation δ from equilibrium, truncated to lowest order (δ 2 ), and then differentiated.
