Steady-state operability characteristics of reactors

Computers & Chemical Engineering, 2000
Abstract Operability analysis helps the process designer to consider process control issues quite early in the design process. This analysis should lead to the calculation of measure which quantifies the operability of a design. Search for this measure has been an active area of research in the last two decades.

Operation of Transmission Lines at Steady-State

2020
For the calculation of tensions and currents, at the beginning and the end of transmission lines (TLs), in steady-state, it is necessary to develop models that represent TLs. These models are obtained for short-length, medium-length, and long-length TLs. In practice, all real circuits are distributed parameters.

Determination of Steady State Gas Turbine Operation

Volume 1: Aircraft Engine; Ceramics; Coal, Biomass and Alternative Fuels; Controls, Diagnostics and Instrumentation, 2012
Repeatable measurement of engine performance requires the system to be near steady state. A technique is presented to assess how close engine operation is to steady state. It estimates the rate of change of the assessed parameter across the sample time and provides an associated confidence interval.

Steady-state operability characteristics of idealized reactors

Chemical Engineering Science, 2001
Abstract Operability analysis is one of the bridges that links process design and control. In this paper, we analyze the steady-state operability characteristics of classical reactors (CSTR and PFR) in the framework of Vinson and Georgakis (DYCOPS-5, Fifth IFAC Symposium on Dynamics and Control of Process Systems, 1998, pp. 700–709; J. Proc.

Full steady-state operation in Tore Supra

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 1996
In order to produce fully non-inductive, lower hybrid (LH) driven discharges in a systematic and reproducible manner, new operation modes have been studied on the superconducting Tore Supra tokamak. To cope with some uncertainties in the LH current drive efficiency (e.g.

Steady-State Operation

2012
Mathematical model of electrical machine contains differential and algebraic equations describing the machine operation in given supply conditions and given load. Using the model, it is possible to derive the changes of the rotor speed, electromagnetic torque, the air-gap flux, and phase currents during transients and in steady-state conditions.

Steady state voltage instability operations perspective

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1990
This work reviews the basic theory of steady-state voltage instability; provides a physical interpretation of steady-state voltage instability; identifies some of the problems operators are presently experiencing; and gives simple procedures which can be used to determine system margin on a real-time basis.

Profile control for steady-state operation

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 1998
Large departures from standard L-mode confinement scaling laws are now being observed in most tokamaks which appear promising for relaxing the plasma current constraint and therefore open the route to high-performance steady-state operation with high bootstrap current fraction. Prospects of the weak or reversed magnetic shear scenarios for steady-state
