Multiple dual mode counter-current chromatography with periodic sample injection: Steady-state and non-steady-state operation

Journal of Chromatography A, 2014
The multiple dual mode (MDM) counter-current chromatography (CCC) separation consists of a succession of two isocratic counter-current steps and is carried out in series alternating between normal phase and reversed phase operation. The performance of the MDM technique can be improved by the sample re-injection between each of the dual-mode steps.

Recent EAST Experimental Results and Systems Upgrade in Support of Long-Pulse Steady-State Plasma Operation

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2022
In recent years, EAST has achieved a 60-s scale steady-state plasma operation (SSO), which is electron dominant heated by the electron cyclotron wave and low hybrid wave.

Chapter 6: Steady state operation

Nuclear Fusion, 2007
Significant progress has been made in the area of advanced modes of operation that are candidates for achieving steady state conditions in a fusion reactor. The corresponding parameters, domain of operation, scenarios and integration issues of advanced scenarios are discussed in this chapter.

Steady-State Operability Analysis

2020
While steady-state operability analysis, that is, operability with fixed models and parameter values is important, it is equally important to investigate the dynamic operability, that is, the operability of the NMS under variations in assumed models and parameter values.

Steady state operation exergy‐based optimization for solar thermal collectors

Environmental Progress & Sustainable Energy, 2019
In this investigation, exergy‐based optimization was carried out on two configurations of solar thermal collectors. A set of control sensors were utilized to control the performance of the system and monitor the design variables, that is, inlet and ...

Multiple Steady States in FCC Unit Operations

Chemical Engineering Science, 1988
Abstract Commercial fluidized catalytic cracking (FCC) units potentially can exhibit steady-state multiplicity owing to the net exothermicity of the process and the complex interactions that exist between the reactor and regenerator heat balances.

Multiple roll systems: Steady‐state operation

AIChE Journal, 1995
AbstractRoll coaters for applying liquid coating to continuous strip or web are, with some two‐roll exceptions, systems of three or more rolls in which liquid passes through two or more gaps or nips between rolls. Yet most of the literature on roll coating is devoted to some of the 11 distinct flows in individual gaps or nips. This article analyzes how

Steady state operation of spherical tokamaks

Nuclear Fusion, 2000
For a fusion power plant to be economically and technologically attractive, it should be as compact as possible and capable of `steady state' operation. One approach is based upon the spherical tokamak (ST) concept. This configuration features many of the qualities of the conventional aspect ratio tokamak, such as good confinement and MHD stability ...

Steady-state operability characteristics of reactors

Computers & Chemical Engineering, 2000
Abstract Operability analysis helps the process designer to consider process control issues quite early in the design process. This analysis should lead to the calculation of measure which quantifies the operability of a design. Search for this measure has been an active area of research in the last two decades.
