Steady state voltage instability operations perspective

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1990
This work reviews the basic theory of steady-state voltage instability; provides a physical interpretation of steady-state voltage instability; identifies some of the problems operators are presently experiencing; and gives simple procedures which can be used to determine system margin on a real-time basis.

LHD diagnostics towards steady state operation

The 30th International Conference on Plasma Science, 2003. ICOPS 2003. IEEE Conference Record - Abstracts., 2003
Summary form only given, as follows. The Large Helical Device, LHD, is the world largest helical system having all superconducting coils. After completion of LHD in 1998, 6 experimental campaigns have been carried out successfully. The maximum stored energy, electron temperature, and beta value are 1.2 MJ, 10 keV, 3.2 %, respectively.

Determination of Steady State Gas Turbine Operation

Volume 1: Aircraft Engine; Ceramics; Coal, Biomass and Alternative Fuels; Controls, Diagnostics and Instrumentation, 2012
Repeatable measurement of engine performance requires the system to be near steady state. A technique is presented to assess how close engine operation is to steady state. It estimates the rate of change of the assessed parameter across the sample time and provides an associated confidence interval.

Steady-state operability characteristics of idealized reactors

Chemical Engineering Science, 2001
Abstract Operability analysis is one of the bridges that links process design and control. In this paper, we analyze the steady-state operability characteristics of classical reactors (CSTR and PFR) in the framework of Vinson and Georgakis (DYCOPS-5, Fifth IFAC Symposium on Dynamics and Control of Process Systems, 1998, pp. 700–709; J. Proc.

Steady-State Power Flow Model of Energy Router Embedded AC Network and Its Application in Optimizing Power System Operation

IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2018
The energy router is an emerging device concept that is based on an advanced power electronic technique. It is able to realize flexible and dynamic electric power distribution in power systems analogous to the function of information routers in the ...

Profile control for steady-state operation

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 1998
Large departures from standard L-mode confinement scaling laws are now being observed in most tokamaks which appear promising for relaxing the plasma current constraint and therefore open the route to high-performance steady-state operation with high bootstrap current fraction. Prospects of the weak or reversed magnetic shear scenarios for steady-state

Full steady-state operation in Tore Supra

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 1996
In order to produce fully non-inductive, lower hybrid (LH) driven discharges in a systematic and reproducible manner, new operation modes have been studied on the superconducting Tore Supra tokamak. To cope with some uncertainties in the LH current drive efficiency (e.g.

Operation of Transmission Lines at Steady-State

2020
For the calculation of tensions and currents, at the beginning and the end of transmission lines (TLs), in steady-state, it is necessary to develop models that represent TLs. These models are obtained for short-length, medium-length, and long-length TLs. In practice, all real circuits are distributed parameters.

Towards steady state tokamak operation with double transport barriers

Nuclear Fusion, 1999
Core confinement and the overall performance of the tokamak have been considerably enhanced with the combination of two improved confinement regimes. Internal transport barriers characteristic of the optimized shear regime and an edge transport barrier of the high confinement H mode regime have been superposed in the double barrier (DB) mode.
