Equilibrium Drift Restriction: A Control Strategy for Reducing Steady-State Error Under System Inconsistency

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications
The inconsistency of system parameters inevitably emerges due to reasons such as modeling imprecision, manufacturing error, and aging process. Due to the inconsistency between nominal models and real-world conditions, controllers designed accordingly ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Towards improved visual stimulus discrimination in an SSVEP BCI

open access: yes, 2010
The dissertation investigated the influence of stimulus characteristics, electroencephalographic (EEG) electrode location and three signal processing methods on the spectral signal to noise ratio (SNR) of Steady State Visual Evoked Potentials (SSVEPs ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

A Novel PID-LQR Controller Scheme to Enhance the Performance of Full-Bridge Boost Converter

open access: yesModelling
PID (proportional integral derivative) control has been widely used in industry due to its simplicity in implementation and satisfactory performance. However, the controller tuning is very troublesome when used in complex and nonlinear systems.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Detecting the Duration of Initial Transient in Steady State Simulation of Arbitrary Performance Measures

open access: yes, 2007
The issue of the initial transient phase in steady state simulation has been widely discussed in simulation literature. Many methods have been proposed for deciding the duration of this phase of simulation, to determine a valid truncation point of the ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Steady State Analysis of Balanced-Allocation Routing

open access: yes, 2003
We compare the long-term, steady-state performance of a variant of the standard Dynamic Alternative Routing (DAR) technique commonly used in telephone and ATM networks, to the performance of a path-selection algorithm based on the "balanced ...
