Steady streaming due to vibrating walls
Physics of Fluids, 2004An analytical study of the flow induced by vibrating solid walls is presented. Transverse motions in the form of standing waves vibrated at small amplitudes are considered and the governing equations are perturbed using the slope as a small parameter.

CONTROL OF STEADY-STATE VIBRATIONS OF RECTANGULAR PLATES
International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2011The focus of the present research is to eliminate the undesired steady-state vibrations at selected lines or locations in a vibrating plate by means of adding attachments at arbitrary selected locations. These attachments can be either added concentrated masses and/or translational or rotational springs which are connected to the plate at one end and ...

Steady-State Behavior of Nonlinear Dynamic Vibration Absorber
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1961The Frahm-type dynamic vibration absorber is analyzed for the case where both main and absorber springs have nonlinearities of the Duffing type. A one-term-approximation solution is assumed for the motions of the two masses, and the resulting amplitude equation is solved using a graphical procedure.

Plane steady vibration of an elastic wedge
Journal of Elasticity, 1975The problem of plane steady vibration of an elastic wedge of arbitrary angle (less than 180 degrees) subject to harmonic normal and shearing tractions on its faces is reduced to a system of singular integral equations by the superposition of two half-plane solutions.

Steady-state vibrations of offshore structures
Hydrotechnical Construction, 1994Offshore structures subjected to the action of drifting ice floes may experience several kinds of interactions with the ice feature. This paper addresses the structural response to forces that arise when the ice floe fractures against a vertical structure. Special attention is paid to the steady-state vibrations which may arise at medium ice velocities.

Steady State Vibration of Damped Timoshenko Beams
Journal of the Structural Division, 1968A method for the analysis of the steady state vibration of damped Timoshenko beams is presented. The usual four differential equations of the Timoshenko Theory are increased to eight differential equations with the addition of damping in the form of complex modulii.

Steady forced vibrations in coupled thermoelasticity
Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis, 1986This fine paper is devoted to the study of the forced longitudinal vibration of a bar excited by a harmonic force within the frame of linear coupled thermoelasticity. The authors shows that, due to thermomechanical coupling, which results in dissipation of mechanical energy, a unique solution exists for any driving frequency.
