Steady torsional vibrations of a multilayered orthotropic shaft

International Applied Mechanics, 1993
An approximate method was presented for studying the stress state of bodies subjected to cyclic loads. Here, we present the solution to a problem concerning the steady torsional vibration of compound shafts in which the different layers are made of cyclically orthotropic materials.

Plane steady vibration of an orthogonal elastic wedge

Journal of Elasticity, 1974
The problem is reduced to a single Fredholm integral equation by using a superposition of two half-plane solutions. The treatment is exact within the theory of linear elastodynamics. Dissipation is introduced in the form of linear viscous damping at the surface in order to overcome the mathematical difficulties which are associated with the nondecaying

Polymeric particle dampers under steady-state vertical vibrations

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2012
Abstract Numerical and experimental studies are made of the power dissipated by a granular medium as it undergoes sinusoidal vibrations in the same direction as gravity. The granular medium consists of spherical elastomeric particles that partially fill a box with rectangular cross section whose walls are made of thick blocks of Perspex.

Optimizing Piecewise Linear Isolator for Steady State Vibration

Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Technology, 2003
In this work we have studied the effect of stoppers in quarter car model. While in rough roads these stoppers prevent the system from excessive displacement around the resonance frequency. Although stoppers prevent the undesired motion they increase the transmitted force that is undesirable in suspension systems.

Analysis of measurement information on steady-state vibrations

Measurement Techniques, 2000
Nowadays practically all forms of machine, including aircraft, are saturated with all kinds of electronic equipment. The equipment performs not only a service function but is the “brain” which is responsible for the efficiency of the machine. The present article is devoted, to analyzing information concerning steady-state vibrations.

Optimization of Steady-State Vibration Response

2009
This paper is concerned with the optimization of steady-state vibration response of the mechanical system modeled by linear time-invariant second-order system. After rewriting the system as a first-order generalized state-space system (descriptor system), and under the assumptions of regularity, stability and absence of impulsive behavior, the ...

Fast Steady Horizon Sensor Based on Filtering Vibration

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
The liquid switch gyroscope is used as a reference of the original horizontal coordinate system in the inertial navigation system of ballistic rockets. The stability of gyro is significant for finding ground level when a missile enters the destination region. A damping is adapted to increase the tremor convergence rate which may be caused by vibrations

Steady state vibrations of framed structures

2011
This thesis is concerned with the determination of Internal Stress Resultants produced in different structural elements of framed structures due to harmonic disturbances. The analysis of frames under vibrating loads has so far been dealt with with physical lumping of the structural mass at the node points where the stiffness influence coefficients are ...

Problems of Steady Vibrations in Thermoelasticity

2019
In this chapter, the BVPs of steady vibrations of the linear theory of thermoelasticity for quadruple porosity materials are investigated by means of the potential method and the theory of integral equations.

Steady State Vibrations of a Piecewise Linear System

Volume 6B: 18th Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise, 2001
Abstract In this paper we examine the dynamics of a mechanical system with a piecewise linear damping and stiffness, which is characterized as a strongly nonlinear system. Searching for the exact steady state periodic response of piecewise linear systems for harmonic excitations, lead to a set of transcendental equations which should be ...
