Laval Turbonozzle Dynamics [PDF]
The results of computing experiments are presented for the steam and gas stream motion in converging-diverging flow element called Laval nozzle and applied in steam and gas turbines. In beginning the experiments had carried out for Laval nozzle tested by Stodola and then for this turbonozzle various modifications.

Electricity generation using molten salt technology [PDF]
The anodic release of carbon dioxide gas in the molten salt Hall-Heroult process can be used to power a turbine for electricity generation. The application of this new concept in molten salt reprocessing in the nuclear industry is considered because it could facilitate the suitability of carbon dioxide cycles to certain types of nuclear reactor.

A whole island approach to scoping renewable energy sites and yields
Short Abstract This study uses a combined Geographic Information System (GIS)‐multi‐criteria decision analysis (MCDA) to scope the wind and solar energy potential of the Isle of Man, UK. We determine that the total wind and solar renewables potential of onshore and offshore sites of 784 MW is much greater than the historical (85 MW) and projected (131 ...

Mechanisms of rare‐earth monosilicate reaction with calcium–magnesium aluminosilicate
Abstract Reactions of calcium–magnesium aluminosilicate (CMAS) with single‐cation rare‐earth monosilicates (REMS) at 1300°C for times up to 24 h were investigated to determine reaction mechanisms. Eight single‐cation REMSs were investigated: La2SiO5, Nd2SiO5, Gd2SiO5, Dy2SiO5, Y2SiO5, Er2SiO5, Yb2SiO5, and Lu2SiO5.
