Optimization of Sustainable Hybrid Solar Power Cycles: Bibliographic Mapping

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 12, Page 6587-6610, December 2025.
This paper introduced highly efficient, environmentally friendly hybrid solar power plants integrating advanced storage, thermodynamic, and fuel production systems. Such models successfully demonstrate how AI‐assisted multi‐objective optimization can balance energy, economic, and ecological metrics.

An Alternative Numerical Model for Investigating Three- Dimensional Steam Turbine Exhaust Hood

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2020
A proper design of exhaust hood geometry is very much essential in order to improve the overall efficiency of the steam turbine plant. The geometry of the non-axisymmetric exhaust hood makes the fluid flow at the exit of the steam turbine to be radially ...

Slags as Thermal Energy Storage Media for Concentrated Solar Power and Renewable Energy Integration

open access: yesEnergy Storage, Volume 7, Issue 8, December 2025.
ABSTRACT The growing demand for low‐cost, high‐performance thermal energy storage (TES) materials has prompted interest in repurposing metallurgical slags in concentrated solar power (CSP) systems. This review critically evaluates the potential of various steel, copper, and aluminum slags as high‐temperature TES media in packed‐bed configurations ...

Advancements in Catalyst Design for Biomass‐Derived Bio‐Oil Upgrading to Sustainable Biojet Fuel: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 14, Issue 12, December 2025.
The design of hierarchical ZSM‐5 catalysts for the conversion of biomass‐derived bio‐oil, specifically from sugarcane bagasse, into biojet fuel. The underlying mechanisms underscore the significance of producing biojet fuel from renewable resources to boost global energy sustainability and lower carbon emissions within the aviation industry.

Research on Event‐Triggered Based Flexible Frequency Modulation Method for Thermal Power Connected to System With Large‐Scale Wind Power

open access: yesIET Smart Energy Systems, Volume 1, Issue 3, Page 220-231, December 2025.
For the new power system, this paper proposes a new generalized PID stabilization control mechanism with the ability of optimizing resource allocation, as well as an event‐triggered rapid frequency regulation control strategy for thermal power generating units.

Like a fish takes to water: Minimum discharge requirements to sustain rheophilic fish community dominance in bypassed river reaches

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 62, Issue 12, Page 3263-3276, December 2025.
We conclude that small increases in minimum discharge can be particularly beneficial to the restoration of rheophilic community structure, especially at low levels of minimum flow, even though the area of lotic habitat has been reduced to a fraction of natural conditions.

Electrocatalytic Conversion of Renewable Electricity—What Molecules are More Promising as Energy Storage Media?

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, Volume 25, Issue 11, November 27, 2025.
The minimum cost of electricity consumed for energy medium generation, under realistic and idealized conditions, is instrumentalized as discriminatory criterion, in relation to the prevailing market prices of the produced chemicals. Fundamental reason on why selectivity control becomes challenging is proposed when we move from small toward more complex
