Subclinical Optic Nerve Involvement in Radiologically Isolated Syndrome: Multimodal Detection and Diagnostic Impact

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We aimed to determine the frequency of subclinical optic nerve (ON) lesions using MRI, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual evoked potentials (VEP) in radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS), and to assess their diagnostic and prognostic significance.

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Behaviour of pultruded beam-to-column joints using steel web cleats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Response of pultruded Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) beam-to-column joints with steel bolted web cleats is studied through physical testing. Two joint configurations are considered with either three or two bolts per cleat leg, as per drawings in a ...

Impact response of ultra-high performance fiber-reinforced concrete filled square double-skin steel tubular columns

open access: yes, 2023
This paper studies the lateral impact behavior of ultra-high performance fiber-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) filled double-skin steel tubular (UHPFRCFDST) columns. The impact force, midspan deflection, and strain histories were recorded. Based on the test

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Calculation of Cracks in Partially Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Beams with BFRP Bars

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2022
The effects of steel fiber volume rate and steel fiber concrete thickness on the crack development and crack resistance of basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) beams were investigated by flexural tests on six partially reinforced BFRP steel fiber ...

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Enhancing the tensile performance of ultra-high-performance concrete through novel curvilinear steel fibers

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
This study developed a novel curvilinear steel fiber to improve the tensile behavior of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) and to mitigate the stress concentration observed in conventional deformed steel fibers.

Creep Properties and Deformation Mechanism of Additively Manufactured NiAl‐CrMo Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additively manufactured NiAl‐CrMo composites contain numerous interfaces and cell boundaries that control their creep response. At 700°C under high applied stress, creep is dominated by dislocation‐controlled power‐law mechanisms. At 800°C–900°C and lower stresses, creep is primarily diffusion‐controlled along cell boundaries.

Comparison of material properties of steel fiber reinforced concrete with two types of steel fiber

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract The work is focused on the area of mechanical properties of two types of Steel Fibers for reinforced concrete. In both cases, the same concrete mixture is used. The Steel Fibers used differ in shape. The first one is short and straight fiber and the second one is 3D steel fiber.
