Seismic Performance of Full-Scale Reinforced Concrete Frames Retrofitted with Bolted Concrete-Filled Steel Tubes

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
The effective retrofit strategy of non-seismic designed structures is required to improve the strength and ductility. Jacketing is the most typical method which can enhance seismic resistance capacity, but there are many disadvantages due to its enlarged

Numerical study of spun pile with steel jacket

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2023
Abstract The confinement ratio of spun piles manufactured in Indonesia has been a matter of concern since it does not meet the applicable requirements. Additional steel jacketing retrofitting was used to cope with the problem as well as improve the strength of spun pile to pile cap connection. A numerical study was performed to study the

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF STRENGTHENED SHORT CONCRETE COLUMNS [PDF]

open access: yesPort Said Engineering Research Journal, 2014
Reinforced concrete (RC) columns in buildings often need strengthening either due to defects in the columns themselves, having to support higher loads than those foreseen in the initial design of the structure, or as the result of ageing or accidental ...

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.
