Advanced Biodegradable Materials: The Development of PBS Hybrid Composites Reinforced With Natural Fibers, Lignin, and Sepiolite for Sustainable Applications

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Development of hybrid biocomposites based on Bio‐PBS with canabrava, ESB, sepiolite, and lignin to reduce cost and improve properties for injection molding applications. The materials were processed via twin‐screw extrusion and characterized for mechanical, thermal, morphological, and rheological performance.

Fouling in Emulsion Polymerization: Fundamentals and Methods of Investigation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The current understanding of fouling in emulsion polymerization is summarized from an engineering perspective and from a physical‐chemistry perspective. Emulsion polymerization in semibatch mode offers better control over the number of particles and side reactions than batch mode. Both reaction fouling and particulate fouling are observed, the

Self‐Crosslinkable Bacterial Cellulose/Chitosan/Pectin Injectable Hydrogels: Design, Characterization and Preliminary Biological Performance

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Bio‐injectable hydrogel. ABSTRACT In this study, multifunctional polysaccharide‐based injectable hydrogels were developed using chitosan (CS) and dialdehyde bacterial cellulose (D‐BC), interpenetrated with pectin (PT). The hydrogels exhibited rapid gelation, good water retention, and injectability under physiological conditions.
