Sunkou Steel Truss Railway Bridge, China

Structural Engineering International, 1997
The 2381 km long Beijing-Kowloon Railway Line, opened for traffic in September 1996, is the one of the largest civil engineering projects in China in recent years. It extends from Beijing to Shenzhen, where it connects with the Kowloon Railway Line to Hong Kong.

The monitoring of temperature differences between steel truss members in long-span truss bridges compared with bridge design codes

Advances in Structural Engineering, 2018
The temperature differences in bridge structures have been one primary concern for bridge engineers and researchers. In the traditional view, the temperature differences between steel truss members are treated as uniform because of the good heat transfer

Rehabilitation of Tornionjoki Steel Truss Bridge, Finland

Structural Engineering International, 2002
An old steel truss bridge located in North Finland was rehabilitated by replacing the old wooden deck with a steel orthotropic deck. The deck was prefabricated in the workshop and installed in its final position by the launching method. All structures and joints of the steel deck are simple and accessible to avoid corrosion problems in the future.

Fatigue performance and evaluation of welded joints in steel truss bridges

Journal of constructional steel research, 2018
While welded joints are extensively used in the connections of steel truss bridges, service life of the bridges is largely dependent on the fatigue resistance of the welded joints.

Behaviors of partially concrete-filled welded integral T-joints in steel truss bridges

Engineering structures, 2018
This research focuses on the structural behaviors of partially concrete-filled welded integral T-joints in steel truss bridges. The T-shape integral joints, which are composed of welded box-section members, were simply supported at chord ends so that the

Dynamic Performance Analysis of Steel Truss Bridge

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Steel truss bridge is an important part of transportation hub and lifeline engineering, it recently has attracted more attention on dynamic performance of steel truss bridge. In this paper, the ANSYS software is used to perform the modal analysis of steel truss bridge, and we find that the main bridge are more sensitive to the vertical earthquake (i.e.,

Structural Health Indices for Steel Truss Bridges

2011
Steel bridges represent a significant portion of the nation’s aging bridge inventory. The United States Army’s inventory has over two hundred steel bridges that are vital to the operation of nearly every Army Installation. The Army regularly inspects their bridges to ensure the continued functionality of the bridges.

Behaviour and evaluation of pin-connected steel truss bridges

Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering, 1987
Two posted bridges, with pin-connected steel trusses, were recently proof tested in Ontario. This paper presents some results of the tests and draws conclusions, which are also applicable to other similar structures. It is concluded that, unlike other bridge types, this type of bridge does not possess reserve strengths beyond those ascertained ...
