Confining and hoop stresses in ring-confined thin-walled concrete-filled steel tube columns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) columns are now widely adopted in many structures due to the superior behaviour provided by composite action. However, this composite action is limited because of the different dilation properties of the constitutive ...

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Enhancing sulfide stress cracking resistance of a Cu-bearing high strength low alloyed steel through decreasing austenitizing temperature

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
To answer a longstanding question towards how the austenitizing temperature affects the sulfide stress cracking (SSC) resistance in high strength low alloyed (HSLA) steels for oil country tubular goods (OCTG), it is necessary to study effects of the ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
