Three Proposed Hybrid Genetic Algorithms [PDF]

open access: yesAl-Rafidain Journal of Computer Sciences and Mathematics, 2013
Genetic Algorithm has been hybridized with classical optimization methods. Hybridization has been done in three approaches, by using conjugate gradient algorithm for Fletcher and Reeves, second by using steepest descent method and lastly by creation of ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

A New Regularized Reconstruction Algorithm Based on Compressed Sensing for the Sparse Underdetermined Problem and Applications of One-Dimensional and Two-Dimensional Signal Recovery

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2019
The compressed sensing theory has been widely used in solving undetermined equations in various fields and has made remarkable achievements. The regularized smooth L0 (ReSL0) reconstruction algorithm adds an error regularization term to the smooth L0(SL0)

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Hybrid Steepest Descent Viscosity Method for Triple Hierarchical Variational Inequalities

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
We consider a triple hierarchical variational inequality problem (in short, THVIP). By combining hybrid steepest descent method, viscosity method, and projection method, we propose an approximation method to compute the approximate solution of THVIP.

Training Multilayer Neural Network Based on Optimal Control Theory for Limited Computational Resources

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
Backpropagation (BP)-based gradient descent is the general approach to train a neural network with a multilayer perceptron. However, BP is inherently slow in learning, and it sometimes traps at local minima, mainly due to a constant learning rate.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
