Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

A Learning Method for Neural Networks Based on a Pseudoinverse Technique

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 1996
A theoretical formulation of a fast learning method based on a pseudoinverse technique is presented. The efficiency and robustness of the method are verified with the help of an Exclusive OR problem and a dynamic system identification of a linear single ...

Reduced Muscular Carnosine in Proximal Myotonic Myopathy—A Pilot 1H‐MRS Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Myotonic dystrophy type 2 (proximal myotonic myopathy, PROMM) is a progressive multisystem disorder with muscular symptoms (proximal weakness, pain, myotonia) and systemic manifestations such as diabetes mellitus, cataracts, and cardiac arrhythmias.

Exploring the 3D Surfaces with Modified Method of Steepest Descent [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Medical Informatics, 2012
Aim: To prove expediency of the steepest descent method to divide a given cloud of (Y, X1, X2) points into the spatial clusters with purpose to estimate a simple regression model Y = f(Z|X1,X2) at each cluster.

Whole‐Body Pattern of Muscle Degeneration and Progression in Sarcoglycanopathies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To characterize whole‐body intramuscular fat distribution pattern in patients with sarcoglycanopathies and explore correlations with disease severity, duration and age at onset. Methods Retrospective, cross‐sectional, multicentric study enrolling patients with variants in one of the four sarcoglycan genes who underwent whole‐body ...

Calculation of Constructions of Variable Thickness by Method of Steepest Descent

open access: yesAcademia: Архитектура и строительство, 2018
The technique of calculation of structural elements of variable thickness is discussed in the article. Such constructive elements are described by differential equations with variable coefficients, for the implementation of which it is necessary to have ...

Research on Nonlinear Compensation of the MEMS Gyroscope under Tiny Angular Velocity

open access: yesSensors, 2022
The Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) gyroscope has been widely used in various fields, but the output of the MEMS gyroscope has strong nonlinearity, especially in the range of tiny angular velocity.

The Origin of the Method of Steepest Descent

open access: yesHistoria Mathematica, 1997
A powerful method to estimate complex integrals of the form \(\int_C e^{nu(z)}g(z)dz\) (\(C\) is the contour of integration and \(u\), \(g\) are analytic functions) for large \(n\) is the so-called method of steepest descent or saddle-point method. The article under review offers a historical analysis of the creation of this method.

Process‐Informed Analysis of As‐Built Metal Additive Surface Features

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article introduces a novel method for feature‐based surface texture characterisation directly incorporating manufacturing variables into the feature extraction workflow. This marks a major step towards identifying process‐specific surface properties and their influence on part function and hence a holistic understanding of process–structure ...
