Steering Wheel Behavior Based Estimation of Fatigue

open access: yes, 2009
This paper examined a steering behavior based fatigue monitoring system. The advantages of using steering behavior for detecting fatigue are that these systems measure continuously, cheaply, non-intrusively, and robustly even under extremely demanding

Effective estimation of the desired-signal subspace and its application to robust adaptive beamforming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
An effective method is proposed to estimate the desired-signal (S) subspace by the intersection between the signal-plus-interference (SI) subspace and a reference space covering the angular region where the desired signal is located.

Blood Biomarkers and Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy for Gout: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustrating gout disease progression from asymptomatic hyperuricemia to chronic tophaceous disease, highlighting the limitations of conventional imaging and biochemical diagnostics and the potential of engineered SERS platforms for ultrasensitive blood‐based detection of urate‐related biomarkers across disease stages, with the color gradient

Two-Dimensional DOA Estimation for Incoherently Distributed Sources with Uniform Rectangular Arrays

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Aiming at the two-dimensional (2D) incoherently distributed (ID) sources, we explore a direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation algorithm based on uniform rectangular arrays (URA).

Designing Stable Periodic Magnetization Textures by Tailoring Anisotropies and Applying Geometrical Transformation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores the possibility to design stable periodic magnetization textures by transforming a 2D film into a rolled‐up 3D architecture and back. In case of an isotropic exchange‐biased layer architecture, the magnetization encoded in the 3D state evolves into a spin‐spiral pattern with controlled periodicity after unrolling.

Joint Angle Estimation and Signal Reconstruction for Coherently Distributed Sources in Massive MIMO Systems Based on 2-D Unitary ESPRIT

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
We consider the challenging problem of joint angle estimation and signal reconstruction for coherently distributed (CD) sources in massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems employing uniform rectangular arrays. A simplified method inspired by

An ABORT-like detector with improved mismatched signals rejection capabilities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, we present a GLRT-based adaptive detection algorithm for extended targets with improved rejection capabilities of mismatched signals. We assume that a set of secondary data is available and that noise returns in primary and secondary data ...

Thermally Pre‐Formed Reconfigurable Resistive Random‐Access Memory Crossbar Arrays: A Dual‐Mode Platform for Robust Physically Unclonable Functions and In‐Memory Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable RRAM platform utilizing thermally pre‐formed filaments (TPFs) is developed to realize robust hardware security. By exploiting the thermodynamic stochasticity of TPFs, exceptionally reliable physically unclonable functions (PUFs) are achieved.

Improvement and computational complexity reduction in estimating the direction of arrival using switched active switched parasitic antenna arrays for next- generation networks

open access: yesمجلة النهرين للعلوم الهندسية
This research studies the capabilities of antenna arrays known as switched active switched parasitic antennas (SASPA) in enhancing the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation of received signals.
