Basic Properties of Tungsten Oxide Anodic Memristors

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), EarlyView.
Anodically grown WO3 memristors are studied. Strong self‐rectification is detected during I–U sweeps. Poole–Frenkel and Schottky conduction mechanisms are responsible for the high‐ and low‐resistive states, respectively. This characterizes forming‐free anodic memristors, without conductive filament formation. Memristive endurance testing reveals stable

In Vivo Wound‐Healing and Molecular Docking Studies Support the Traditional Use of Arisarum vulgare Aqueous Extract

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
Arisarum vulgare aqueous extract showed safe and effective wound‐healing activity in vivo. Molecular docking supported the role of its phytoconstituents in modulating inflammation, angiogenesis and tissue regeneration, validating its traditional use in Algeria. ABSTRACT In Algerian traditional medicine, Arisarum vulgare O. Targ. Tozz.

How sensitive are Sahelian mesoscale convective systems to cold‐pool suppression?

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Cold pools are a ubiquitous feature of mesoscale convective systems (MCSs) with important upscale impacts on West African climate, but their role in the maintenance of tropical MCSs remains debated. Using a 40‐day model with explicit convection and no rainfall evaporation, we show that cold pools do not play a primary role in Sahel MCS development or ...

Rethinking the Spanish plume: An airstream analysis challenges the canonical conceptual model

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Three‐dimensional airstream model showing the history of air‐parcel trajectories arriving at Nottingham on 1200 UTC 1 July 2015 at 950, 850, 650 and 250 hPa, respectively. Four different airstreams are illustrated, none of which can be easily called the Spanish‐plume airstream.

Scale interactions of deep convection in the Sahel: Exploring ring patterns in lagged cross‐correlations of rainfall

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Spatio‐temporal patterns in rainfall are evidence of scale interactions in convection in the West African Sahel. Radial normalization of two‐dimensional conditional probability maps reveals a ring‐like structure in rainfall probabilities surrounding previous rainfall.

Evaluation of the WRF model for simulating deep convection and cold‐pool characteristics relevant to wind‐energy applications in Germany

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Deep convection and cold‐pool characteristics over Germany during July 2023 are investigated using Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) radar observations and a Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model simulation. The temporal evolution of convective cell features reveals a downward‐facing parabolic pattern in both WRF and observations, in terms of cell ...

Multi‐Objective Robust Controller Synthesis With Integral Quadratic Constraints in Discrete‐Time

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article presents a novel framework for the robust controller synthesis problem in discrete‐time systems using dynamic Integral Quadratic Constraints (IQCs). We present an algorithm to minimize closed‐loop performance measures such as the ℋ∞$$ {\mathscr{H}}_{\infty } $$‐norm, the energy‐to‐peak gain, the peak‐to‐peak gain, or a ...
