Mapping of Fire Blight Resistance QTL in the European Pear (Pyrus communis L.) Cultivar ‘Petersbirne’

open access: yesPlant Breeding, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The breeding of pear (Pyrus communis) cultivars that meet market requirements and are at the same time resistant to fire blight is a challenging task beacuse appropriate resistance donors are scarce. To identify valuable resistance sources, phenotypic screening and genetic characterization are indispensable.

The Diffusion of International Environmental Agreements: The Role of Learning, Competition and Emulation

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT International environmental agreements are key instruments for addressing transboundary environmental problems, but treaty ratification remains uneven and clustered across countries despite the proliferation of multilateral treaties. While existing research has concentrated largely on domestic political‐economic determinants, less is known ...

The Interrelated Mathematics Learner Identities and Mathematics Teacher Identities of Preservice Elementary Teachers

open access: yesSchool Science and Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite consistent efforts for change in mathematics education aligned with ambitious and equitable teaching practices, many preservice teachers continue to enroll in teacher‐preparation programs having learned mathematics in traditional, teacher‐centered ways. If mathematics teacher educators are to support preservice teachers in breaking the

Cohomologies of deformations of solvmanifolds and closedness of some properties

open access: yes, 2013
We provide further techniques to study the Dolbeault and Bott-Chern cohomologies of deformations of solvmanifolds by means of finite-dimensional complexes.

Impact of 14 days of head‐down bed rest and an exercise countermeasure on skeletal muscle atrophy, proteome and circulatory cytokines in older adults

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Prolonged bed rest and immobilization have deleterious effects on skeletal muscle mass and function, especially in older adults. These can lead to reduced physical capacity and quality of life. Previous experiments in younger individuals show that exercise can mitigate these effects, but evidence remains scarce and inconclusive in older adults.

Low‐threshold cutaneous mechanoreceptors on the foot sole have enhanced sensitivity when skin temperature is elevated

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Schematic illustration of microneurography recordings used to examine the effects of local skin heating on cutaneous mechanoreceptor responses in the human foot (left panel). A microelectrode inserted into a peripheral nerve records single‐unit activity from tactile afferent fibres while controlled mechanical stimuli are applied ...

Are There Causal Associations Between Obsessive‐Compulsive Disorder and Cardiometabolic Phenotypes? A Genetic Correlation and Bi‐Directional Mendelian Randomization Study

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, Volume 201, Issue 5, Page 321-330, July 2026.
ABSTRACT In epidemiological studies, obsessive‐compulsive disorder (OCD) is robustly associated with increased risk of cardiometabolic disorders, including cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. However, the mechanisms behind these associations are unclear. We conducted genetic correlation analyses to explore shared genetic etiology and

How do US Adults Who Vape Choose Among Different E‐Cigarette (EC) Models and Cigarettes in Response to Prices and Taxes

open access: yesHealth Economics, Volume 35, Issue 7, Page 1104-1117, July 2026.
ABSTRACT States continue to impose E‐Cigarette (EC) taxes without clear evidence of the cross‐price elasticities between multiple EC types and between ECs and cigarettes. Moreover, existing literature focused on EC sales or prevalence outcomes instead of consumption units of various EC types.
