An orbit theorem for Steiner triple systems

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1994
The author shows that an automorphism group of a nontrivial (possibly infinite) Steiner triple system has at least as many block-orbits as point-orbits.

Electrically Responsive Structural‐Color Materials

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
This review highlights electrically responsive structural‐color materials as next‐generation electrochromic platforms, summarizing key structural designs, modulation mechanisms, and performance metrics to enable continuous, low‐voltage, and tailorable color tuning for advanced display, camouflage, and security applications.

3N Agriculture: Growing the greenest tomorrow

open access: yesAgricultural &Environmental Letters, Volume 11, Issue 1, June 2026.
Abstract The global food system must confront the intertwined challenges of feeding a growing population, reversing environmental degradation, and improving nutrition. While past agricultural innovations improved yields, they often undermined sustainability and food quality. In response, we propose the 3N Agriculture framework—Net‐Zero, Nature‐Positive,

The existence of reverse Steiner triple systems

open access: yes, 1973
A Steiner triple system of order v is called reverse if its automorphism group contains an involution fixing only one point. We show that such a system exists if and only if v ≡ 1,3,9 or 19 (mod 24)

Fecal Microbiota Transplantation From Patients With Social Anxiety Disorder Is Associated With General Anxiety‐Like Behavior and Gut Microbiota Alterations in Mice

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Fecal microbiota transplantation from patients with social anxiety disorder (SAD) into mice induces anxiety‐like behaviors, accompanied by gut microbiota alterations (increased Bacteroidota, decreased butyrate producers), downregulation of microbial metabolic pathways, and reduced plasma tryptophan, suggesting a causal role of gut dysbiosis in SAD ...

Methyltransferase‐Like 14 Promotes the Angiogenesis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma via Targeting Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification is a pivotal epitranscriptomic regulator implicated in tumor progression. As a core component of the m6A methyltransferase complex, METTL14 is known to suppress tumorigenesis; however, its specific role in tumor angiogenesis remains elusive. Given that Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGFA)

Postbiotic Supernatants From Psychobiotic Strains Modulate Antioxidant and Serotonergic Responses

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Cell‐free postbiotic supernatants obtained from psychobiotic strains exhibit strain‐dependent antioxidant and serotonergic effects. SCFA‐rich metabolites enhance antioxidant protection and modulate serotonin release in enterochromaffin cells, supporting their potential as functional ingredients for gut and brain health.

Steiner triple systems and cycle structure

open access: yes
Since 1847 when Rev. T.P. Kirkman published his first paper [24], research in Steiner triple systems has grown steadily. With increased and ready access to more powerfiul computers in recent times, this growth has accelerated significantly.

Quadratic Hedging of American Options Under GARCH Models

open access: yesJournal of Futures Markets, Volume 46, Issue 6, Page 1079-1097, June 2026.
ABSTRACT American options are widely traded in financial markets, yet there is a scarcity of literature on hedging in incomplete markets. In this paper, we derive optimal hedging ratios and option values using Local Risk Minimization (LRM) and Global Risk Minimization (GRM) hedging strategies through dynamic programming.

Steiner Triple Systems and Perfect Codes

open access: yes, 2007
Using a computer implementation, we will show that there are perfect codes of length 15, generating Steiner triple systems which have rank 15. We will also show a strong connection between the rank/kernel of a perfect code and its systematics.
