Calculating Occultation Light Curves Using Wavelets: Exponential Atmospheres and the Constraints of Static Stability

The signatures of waves are seen during many high-quality ground-based refractive stellar occultations by solar system atmospheres. We present a new forward-modeling technique for ground-based stellar occultations based on wavelet decomposition.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Laser Metal Deposited Ti4822 Hollow Pipe: Experimental and Computational Modelling Study

Laser metal deposition (LMD) of a crack‐free built Ti4822 alloys is challenging. This article reports outstanding characteristics of a hollow pipe that is built with LMD technology when a predicted, nontransformation substrate temperature of 800 °C is used.
