We present a novel pair of numerical models of the interaction history between the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds (LMC and SMC, respectively) and our Milky Way (MW) in light of recent high precision proper motions (Kallivayalil et al. 2006a,b).

Materials exist that are useful for gamma scintillation, radiation shielding, neutron‐gamma pulse shape discrimination (PSD), thermal neutron detection, or high refractive index applications. While certain materials have exhibited optimal performance for each of these applications, none achieve multiple functions.

Coupled Disk-star Evolution in Galactic Nuclei and the Lifetimes of QPE Sources
A modest fraction of the stars in galactic nuclei fed toward the central supermassive black hole (SMBH) approach on low-eccentricity orbits driven by gravitational-wave radiation (extreme mass ratio inspiral (EMRI)).

“Three-integral”, collision-free statistical mechanics and stellar systems [PDF]
In a recent paper, Innanen and Papp (1977) have introduced and discussed the behaviour of a function they called the “super angular momentum,” ht2. This quantity, although not formally an integral of motion in the classical definition, is nevertheless a straightforward generalization of the classical total angular momentum.

On inelastic hydrogen atom collisions in stellar atmospheres
The influence of inelastic hydrogen atom collisions on non-LTE spectral line formation has been, and remains to be, a significant source of uncertainty for stellar abundance analyses, due to the difficulty in obtaining accurate data for low-energy atomic

Frontier Advances of Emerging High‐Entropy Anodes in Alkali Metal‐Ion Batteries
Recent advances in microscopic morphology control of high‐entropy anode materials for alkali metal‐ion batteries. Abstract With the growing demand for sustainable energy, portable energy storage systems have become increasingly critical. Among them, the development of rechargeable batteries is primarily driven by breakthroughs in electrode materials ...

The LMC’s stellar bar is offset from the outer disk center, tilted from the disk plane, and does not drive gas inflows. These properties are atypical of bars in gas-rich galaxies, yet the LMC bar’s strength and radius are similar to typical barred ...

ACC forms via aggregating prenucleation clusters that gatekeep its chemical composition. Ion identity steers the path: Ba and Sr substitute Ca in clusters, thereby inhibiting nucleation, with a dose‐dependent switch of Sr to induction. Mg partitions into Mg‐rich and Mg‐poor clusters; the latter form ACC, expelling Mg.
