Stellar Dynamics and Molecular Dynamics: Possible Analogies
Lecture Notes in Physics, 2003In stellar dynamics one is accostumed to deal with the Lynden-Bell distribution, which presents two peculiar characteristics: a) it resembles the quantum Fermi-Dirac distribution, and b) describes a state of metaequilibrium, that is expected to evolve on much longer time scales to a standard Maxwell-Boltzmann equilibrium.

The stellar dynamics of virialised systems is analysed within the search of undamped oscillations. In the case of a time-dependent Hamiltonian qualified after a generic Terzic'-Kandrup potential, the Emrakov-Lewis-Leach invariant is specified; as a result, an infinite set of conservation laws defining constants of motion is demonstrated to be obtained.

Dynamical Evolution of Stellar Systems
EAS Publications Series, 2016Dynamical simulations have become a powerful tool to study the evolution of star clusters due to hardware and software progresses in recent years. Here, I review the state of the art of N-body and other simulation techniques and show what we have learned from these simulations about the dynamical evolution of star clusters.

Celestial Mechanics, 1988Computation and a wealth of new observational techniques have reinvigorated dynamical studies of galaxies and star clusters. These objects are examples of the gravitational n-body problem with n in the range from a few hundred to 1011. Relaxation effects dominate at the low end and are completely negligible at the high end.
