Imperfection in Semiconductors Leading to High Performance Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Crystalline perfection is typically pursued in semiconductors to enhance device performance. However, through modeling and experimental work, we show that defects can be strategically employed in a specific detection regime to increase sensitivity to extreme values. GaN diodes are demonstrated to effectively detect high‐energy proton beams at fluxes as

Dynamic Interfacial Modulation in Pt@Ga Liquid Metal Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a facile dissolution‐reconstruction approach to prepare the Pt@Ga liquid catalyst by dissolving Pt in molten Ga and then using electrochemical treatment to reconstruct Pt on the Ga support, which provides a new design strategy for liquid‐metal catalysts and enhances the understanding of oxide‐modulated segregation, offering new ...

Epsilon‐Negative Derived Electromagnetic Wave Absorption of Magnetic Metacomposites by Bifunctional Phase Paradigm

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An epsilon‐negative response of up to 100000 in the radio frequency band is achieved by creating a metacomposite system with graphene/iron (III) oxide as the main body. The magnetic metacomposites are just like the mythical creature Qiongqi in Chinese mythology, capable of swallowing electromagnetic wave pollution that falls from the sky.

Ammonia Gas Sensor Fabricated by Multifunctional ZnO/GO Nanocomposites for Long‐Term, Self‐Powered Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zinc oxide/graphene oxide (ZnO/GO) nanocomposites serve as a gas‐sensitive film for ammonia sensing and as high‐performance electrode materials in supercapacitors, simultaneously. A wearable contact‐separated triboelectric nanogenerator is designed to directly drive the ZnO/GO nanocomposites‐based ammonia sensor.
