Pathophysiologic Consequences of Early Coarctation Stenting in a Longitudinal Porcine Model
ABSTRACT Background Novel stent technologies offer early intravascular treatment options for coarctation (COA). Mid‐to‐long‐term cardiovascular responses to early COA stent interventions are undefined. Aims We studied a porcine model of COA, with and without early stent implantation with serial dilation to adult aortic diameters, aiming to define ...

ABSTRACT Fluorouracil‐platinum(IV) prodrugs represent a novel class of multimechanistic chemotherapeutics with enhanced anticancer potential. The prodrugs PtIVP‐5FUMeOBut and PtIV56‐5FUMeOBut were actualized by derivatising the clinical drug 5‐fluorouracil (5FU) and coordinating it to platinum(IV) complexes, leveraging the established cytotoxicity of ...

Solvent effects: vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) revealed pronounced solvent‐induced conformational shifts for a tetradentate salen ligand in CDCl3, a solvent generally considered benign. Contrary to the DFT prediction of a single dominant conformer family, quantum cluster growth together with the genetic algorithm guided VCD analysis uncovered ...

C‐Terminal Nucleobase Modification Amplifies Peptide‐Mediated Liposome Fusion
Let's come together right now. Cationic peptides are known to promote aggregation of negatively charged liposomes through electrostatic interaction. The process is reversible: once neutrality is achieved, liposomes disaggregate. Here, we demonstrate that end‐capping peptides with nucleobases turns the process into irreversible fusion.

SORA: Stellar occultation reduction and analysis [PDF]
ABSTRACT The stellar occultation technique provides competitive accuracy in determining the sizes, shapes, astrometry, etc., of the occulting body, comparable to in-situ observations by spacecraft. With the increase in the number of known Solar system objects expected from the LSST, the highly precise astrometric catalogs, such as ...

Size and albedo of Kuiper belt object 55636 from a stellar occultation
The Kuiper belt is a collection of small bodies (Kuiper belt objects, KBOs) that lie beyond the orbit of Neptune and which are believed to have formed contemporaneously with the planets.

On stellar occultations by comets
Icarus, 1983Abstract Stellar occultations by comets can be used for studying the dust opacity of the coma in the vicinity of the cometary nucleus. This method provides high spatial resolution. If faint stars ( V ≤ 15) are used in the densest regions of the sky, the event probability is typically one every 2 hr. This probability can be enhanced by a factor of 40

Stellar Occultation Studies of the Solar System [PDF]
Earth-based observations of stellar occultations provide extremely high spatial resolution for bodies in the outer solar system, about 10,000 times better than that of traditional imaging observations. Stellar occultation data can be used to establish the structure of atmospheres and rings of solar system bodies at high spatial resolution.

Stellar Occultation by 2060 Chiron
Icarus, 1996Abstract A 14th magnitude double star was occulted by 2060 Chiron on 1993 November 7. Observations of this event were obtained from five locations in California. An occultation by Chiron's nucleus was recorded at one of these sites, while a possible graze by the nucleus was seen at the next closest location.
